In Fortnite, players and their friends lead a group of Heroes to reclaim and rebuild a homeland that has been left empty by a mysterious darkness only known as “the Storm.”
Players will band together online to explore the world for resources, build extravagant forts, find or build insane weapons and traps as they protect their towns from the strange monsters that emerge during the Storm.
You asked for it, we're bringing it back. The 50v50 Limited Time Mode is available again December 23, 8:00am ET (13:00 GMT). 50v50 is rotating out on Dec 28.
Fortnite Battle Royale is a PvP mode which puts 100-players on a giant map with destructible environments, where they’ll combine their Fortnite building and combat skills to be the last one standing.
So, what’s the catch? No catch. Fortnite Battle Royale is free and we will not sell items that give a competitive advantage. At some point in the future we will sell other things including cosmetics or compendium-like content.
Fortnite Battle Royale will introduce squads. Also, we’re working to improve the feel of combat, controls, weapons, movement and inventory.
Battle Royale is available as a free download on the Epic Games PC launcher, PlayStation Store and Xbox Store.
Fortnite’s “Save the World” PvE campaign remains in paid Early Access and we have lots of great updates in the works including the previously announced “Block Party” mode and some spooky October content.
