GREENVILLE, S.C. — LSU women's basketball guard Last-Tear Poa had to leave the court during the fourth quarter of the SEC Tournament semifinal game against Ole Miss on a medical cart.
Poa attempted to take charge on a after Ole Miss' Zakiya Stephenson stole a pass and attacked the lane. It was unclear what happened on the play but Poa was visibly distraught after the sequence.
Trainers and medical staff, along with Kim Mulkey, to check on her. Poa initially attempted to try and slowly walk to the bench with assistance but couldn't get there and went back down and that's when the stretcher was called for.
Per team officials, Poa was transported to St. Francis Hospital in downtown Greenville for further evaluation.
The play happened with 5:44 remaining in the game with LSU leading 63-56.
