Pacific was able to get out to an early 8-0 lead before the Celts were able to score their first basket two minutes and thirty seconds in the contest. This lead of eight would be the largest lead of the night for the Boxers. The Boxer and Celts would play the next 10 minutes with a series of runs be each side. Lucas Winkler (Freshman/Portland,OR) would convert a layup with 7:54 left in the first half to put the Boxers up one, 26-25. This would be the last lead the Boxers saw in the first half as the Celts went on a 18-6 run to take a 43-32 lead at the halftime break.
The Boxers did everything they could to starting the second half to narrow the visitors lead. The lead was trimmed down to single digits following a Shawn Cotton Jr. (Sophomore/San Mateo, CA) layup seven minutes into the first half. This would be the closest the game would get as the lead would swell to as many as 22 in the second half.
By The Numbers
- Pacific registered 5 players in double figures
- Ethan Chung (Junior/San Ramon, CA) lead all scorers with 19 points
- Mario Mora (Senior/Bend, OR) knocked down 4 threes in the contest
