The Jaguars' 2020 season now is over.

And although the season ended three days into '21, the finale felt all-too-similar to all-too many games from the previous year.

Mike Glennon threw a pair of touchdown passes to rookie wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr., and the Jaguars rallied from a big early deficit - but it again wasn't enough as they lost to the Indianapolis Colts, 28-14, in the 2020 regular-season finale at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind., Sunday.

The Jaguars' loss extended their franchise-record losing streak to 15 and they finished 1-15 – the worst season-ending record in franchise history. Their lone victory came in Week 1, when they beat the Colts, 27-20, at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville.

The Colts finished the season 11-5.

Glennon, starting at quarterback for a second consecutive game and the fifth time in six games, rallied the Jaguars from a 20-0 second-quarter deficit with touchdown passes of nine and eight yards to Shenault.

His eight-yard touchdown pass to Shenault midway through the third quarter made it 20-14.

The Jaguars punted on their next four possessions, and Colts running back Jonathan Taylor capped an impressive day by clinching the victory with a 45-yard touchdown run with 3:35 remaining.

The Jaguars held the Colts scoreless on six consecutive possessions before Taylor's clinching touchdown.

Glennon completed 26 of 46 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Running back Dare Ogunbowale rushed for 50 yards on 14 carries, playing a second consecutive game in place of injured rookie running back James Robinson.

Taylor rushed for 253 yards on 30 carries. He rushed for 106 yards in the first quarter, the first player in the NFL this season with more than 100 yards rushing in the first quarter of a game.

Colts quarterback Philip Rivers completed 17 of 27 passes for 164 yards and one touchdown with an interception. The Colts outgained the Jaguars, 436-283.

The Colts sacked Glennon six times, with a first-half sack by linebacker Darius Leonard a key play that led to a three-score lead. Jaguars safety Andrew Wingard registered the Jaguars' lone takeaway – an interception off Rivers in the third quarter in the end zone that kept the Colts' deficit at six.

Step by step:

*The Colts took a quick 7-0 lead on their first possession with a six-yard pass from Rivers to wide receiver T.Y. Hilton with 10:16 remaining in the quarter; Taylor's 56-yard run to the Jaguars 11 set up the touchdown. The Colts then pushed the lead to double digits on their ensuing drive, taking a 10-0 lead on 22-yard field goal by rookie kicker Rodrigo Blankenship with 1:16 remaining in the first quarter; 20-yard runs by Taylor and running back Nyheim Hines keyed the drive. The Colts outgained the Jaguars, 173-32, in the first quarter.

*The Colts extended the lead to 17-0 with Taylor's one-yard run with 11:40 remaining in the second quarter; Leonard sacked Glennon, forcing a fumble that cornerback TJ Carrie recovered and returned 25 yards to the Jaguars 15 to set up the touchdown. Blankenship converted a 24-yard field goal with 2:38 remaining in the half for a 20-0 lead. Glennon's nine-yard pass to Shenault Jr. with :27 remaining in the half made it 20-7; Glennon completed seven of seven passes for 75 yards on the 75-yard drive.

*The Jaguars cut further into the lead when Glennon's eight-yard pass to Shenault made it 20-14 with 6:26 remaining in the third quarter; Glennon completed six more consecutive passes for 49 yards on the drive.

*Taylor's 45-yard touchdown run was the fourth quarter's only scoring.

Injury report: Jaguars linebacker Dakota Allen was evaluated for a concussion in the third quarter. Jaguars left tackle Cam Robinson sustained a third-quarter wrist injury, but returned. Jaguars cornerback Greg Mabin sustained a third-quarter hamstring injury.

Notable:Wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. and Robinson, perhaps the Jaguars' two best offensive players, were among the team's six inactives Sunday; Chark missed with a shin injury and Robinson missed a second consecutive game with an ankle injury. The Jaguars' other four inactive players for Sunday: rookie Luq Barcoo, punter Dustin Colquitt, linebacker Quincy Williams and rookie quarterback Jake Luton.
