Seton Hall star Kadary Richmond is out for Wednesday’s game with Providence, and was dressed in black sweats on the bench.
About a half dozen NBA scouts came for Richmond and Providence guard Devin Carter, among others. Freshman Isaiah Coleman started in Richmond’s place.
Richmond played more than 50 minutes in Saturday’s 97-94 triple-overtime loss to Creighton and notched the program’s second-ever triple double with 21 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.
The 6-foot-6 Brooklyn native is the team’s best player and is averaging 16.4 points, 6,9 rebounds and 4.9 assists for the Pirates (13-6, 6-2 Big East). He recently won back-to-back Big East Player of the Week awards.
Richmond’s season was cut short in February last season due to a back injury that probably contributed to the Pirates missing the NCAA Tournament.
They are currently projected as a 7 or 8 seed by many bracketologists.
