Epic Games Is Giving Away One Of The Best Games Of 2020 For Free On New Year’s Eve - Forbes

This year for the holidays, Epic Games is giving out a whole bunch of free games on PC via the Epic Games Store, the home of Fortnite and various other fun offerings.

While yesterday’s freebie was one of the most controversial releases of 2022, today’s game is one of the best of 2020, though trust me when I say this: It’s not for the faint of heart.

Ghostrunner—described as an action-platformer FPS—was co-developed by studios One More Level and Slipgate Ironworks, produced by 3D Realms and co-published by 505 Games and All In! Games which, I mean, wow that’s a lot of companies working to get one relatively short game out to the masses.

I called the game a mix of Dishonored, Titanfall 2 and Superhot when it was first announced. After playing it, I should add that it’s very very challenging also. You play as Jack the Ghostrunner, a cyborg ninja with a katana, as you run, jump, wall-run, slide and slice your way through a cyberpunk dystopia. You can kill enemies in one hit—but they can do the same to you. It’s really hard, but also really fun. There’s a rhythm to it that makes it almost feel like some violent ballet.

For any gamer who likes fast, fluid movement in their first-person shooters, this is a must-play that will test your ability to learn from your mistakes just as much as your reaction time and quick thinking.
