Turnovers abounded as snow fell on the field in Buffalo in the first half between the Vikings and the Bills with the home team taking a 24-10 lead into halftime. However, his last three carries of the half went for only eight yards and included a lost fumble. The key sequence of the half came when the Vikings opted to pass on their third- and fourth-down plays after the two-minute warning from the Bills' 28, both resulting in incompletions, resulting in a turnover on downs when a field goal could have been easily had. Allen, shaking off his pregame elbow injury concerns, scrambled for 25 yards to jumpstart the drive. Four plays later, Buffalo was in the end zone via Allen's arm to wide receiver Gabe Davis for an 11-yard score that put them up two touchdowns, 24-10, with 32 seconds remaining in the half.
