With forecasted temperatures expected to be near record highs for Saturday, Nebraska Athletics has the following updated fan information and reminders for those attending Saturday's game against Buffalo.  Kickoff at Memorial Stadium is set for 2:40 p.m. CT.
  • Nebraska Athletics will implement an exception to Memorial Stadium's Food and Beverage policy for the Buffalo vs. Nebraska home football game on Saturday.
The regular policy reads: Food and beverages from approved game day vendors selling on university grounds are allowed inside the stadium.  Personal empty water bottles are allowed into the stadium for fans to be able to refill at the fountains inside.  All other outside food and beverage is prohibited.  Certain situations may arise, i.e. extreme heat that initiate exceptions to this policy.  The University and Athletic Department will communicate to the public if exceptions will be made.

EXCEPTION For September 11th ONLY
Nebraska Athletics will allow ticketed patrons the opportunity to bring one (1) full bottle of water into Memorial Stadium.  Gate staff will be trained to allow the exception.  Weather models are predicting high heat throughout the day, peaking near kickoff.  In consultation with University public safety officials, Nebraska Athletics has taken this step as a course of action to help mitigate heat distress during the game.

  • Fans are reminded to dress appropriately for the weather, including wearing loose-fitting, light-colored clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat. Drink plenty of non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated fluids and avoid heavy meals. There will be water fountains throughout the stadium and we also urge fans to utilize these to help stay hydrated.

  • In addition to staying hydrated, fans are encouraged to take a break from the heat as necessary, and contact the nearest stadium worker if you need any assistance. The American Red Cross provides emergency medical services in Memorial Stadium and at first aid stations located at the following locations: Southeast corner of the field, East Stadium upper concourse, Northwest concourse and West Stadium Club Level.

  • Like many industries and businesses in our community, Nebraska Athletics has faced staffing challenges during the pandemic. We are working to hire additional concessions stand workers to bring those groups back to full force, but are not yet back to pre-pandemic levels. Early arrival will help with lines at our concession stands. Thanks for your patience as we continue to work through this challenge.
