Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan has confirmed in a new interview that the company's acquisition of Nixxes software has a lot to do with bringing more PlayStation games to PC.
In the new interview on Famitsu celebrating the sale of over 10 million PS5s, Jim Ryan confirmed that plans are indeed in place to bring more PlayStation games to PC.
"We are still in the early stages of our efforts to provide our IP to PCs, but we are satisfied and look forward to working with Nixxes, to help with that," said Ryan.
Earlier this month, Sony added Nixxes Software to its growing list of first party studios, which was announced by Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios.
Excited to announce that the talented Dutch studio Nixxes Software will be joining PlayStation Studios. It's a real pleasure to welcome a team with such deep technical expertise and vast experience to the @Playstation family. Huge congrats to everyone @NixxesSoftware!

"Nixxes will be a strong asset for everyone across PlayStation Studios, helping our teams focus on their most important goal, which is to create unique PlayStation content at the best possible quality,” said Hulst in a tweet announcing the acquisition.
For the uninitiated, Nixxes Software is a Dutch support studio that has worked on games like Marvel's Avengers and Shadow of The Tomb Raider. The Dutch studio has also worked on porting games across different platforms, and its inclusion in Sony's first-party studio lineup may also be in a support capacity.
However, a quick look at the company's recent job postings shows that it was looking to hire a game director as recently as last year. A recent presentation found in a Sony investor's document revealed that Uncharted 4 may be the next game making its way to PC, however that has not been confirmed by Sony just yet.
PlayStation has only recently started showing an interest in porting its exclusive IPs to PC, starting with PC ports of Horizon Zero Dawn last year and Days Gone earlier this year. Earlier this year, Hulst also stated on an interview in the PlayStation blog that "PlayStation will remain the best place to play our PlayStation Studios titles at launch." This seems to indicate that while many of PlayStation Studios' games may come to PC, it won't be at launch for new titles, instead being releasing long after they've seen a majority of sales on the PS4 and PS5.
