Trail Blazers vs. Grizzlies update: Wednesday’s game postponed due to Covid-19 contact tracing - DraftKings Nation

The game Wednesday between the Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies schedule for 10:00 p.m. ET has been postponed due to Covid-19 contact tracing, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported. The Grizzlies had just announced that Jonas Valanciunas tested positive for Covid-19 and was ruled out due to health and safety protocols. Apparently, contact tracing has made it so one team is unable to field a full 8-man roster, possibly the Grizzlies. We’ll wait to see if more details come out from the NBA when the news is officially announced.

Update: The NBA has officially postponed the game and it is related to the Grizzlies side. This is the 16th game that has been pushed back by the League this season.

This puts us down to nine games on the NBA slate for Wednesday night. The Blazers were going to be without Jusuf Nurkic and CJ McCollum due to injuries. If the Blazers were dealing with contact tracing, that may have impacted their ability to field a full team. The Grizzlies entered this game in relatively good health with Ja Morant back in the lineup. Valanciunas and Jaren Jackson Jr. were already ruled out, but the rest of the roster is healthy.

We had a handful of players in good spots in DFS on DraftKings in this game, so it’s a bit upsetting. Enes Kanter and Rodney Hood were both set to start for Portland. Xavier Tillman had entered the starting lineup for Valanciunas and was still priced down at $3,500. Hood was also under $4K at $3,800. So you’ll need to adjust some chalk plays if you were considering any of those three.

The PG landscape also shifts with no Damian Lillard ($10,400) or Ja Morant ($7,300) — a good elite option and a strong mid-range play. This could force ownership to go up on guys in the same range as Dame — Luka Doncic ($10,700), Kevin Durant ($10,500), James Harden ($10,900).
