No. 4 Ohio State is in control on the road at Michigan State, leading 28-0 at halftime. It's the first game back for the Buckeyes after last week's game against Illinois was canceled due to COVID-19 issues, including a positive test for coach Ryan Day. The Buckeyes are also down multiple starters because of "illness or injury," including three starters on the offensive line and a backup tackle. 

While Day has been watching from home, defensive line coach Larry Johnson has assumed the head coaching duties for a day that has highlighted the game-changing presence of Justin Fields. He has 117 yards on 11 of 15 passing and a team-high 75 yards rushing on nine attempts with three touchdowns (one passing, two rushing). New starting center Harry Miller settled in after troubles on the shotgun snap with Fields on the first two series, but another misfire late in the second quarter left a reminder that all of the Buckeyes offensive success is coming with a brand new combination up front. Fields' ability to extend plays with his legs and take off running for positive yards when plays break down has been the difference in this game being close or looking like a blowout.
