Ready for another icon to decorate the already crammed desktop of your gaming PC? Rockstar has revealed the Rockstar Games Launcher, the new home of the Grand Theft Auto Titan titles for PC.

It’s quite simple software: you can buy a large selection of Rockstar games from the launcher and then use them to activate them too. If you’ve used Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher for World of Warcraft Classic, Starcraft and Diablo, you’ll know what to expect.

In addition to allowing you to buy games directly, Rockstar Games Launcher will also scan your PC for Rockstar titles that you already have in other windows, such as Steam. Once you find them, you can also use them to play them, with a “Play on Steam” button that, guess, turns on the Steam launcher to play.

The initiator of Rockstar Games opened its virtual doors on September 17, just a couple of days ago, becoming the last company to have its own launcher and game store. This means that Rockstar has just joined large companies such as Activision Blizzard and Ubisoft, further fracturing the market and increasing the privatization of digital properties. There are currently only several games available at its designated store, including several versions of Grand Theft Auto, LA Noire and other critically acclaimed, and as a promotional trick, the company is giving away a free digital copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to all Those who download their launcher now!

While the company did not offer an official statement at this time, it is presumed that in this, as in most other cases, the plan is to control a greater part of the game’s profits. It is a well known fact that stores that offer the service of promotion and sale of PC games take a considerable part of the profits.
