We've heard Nick Saban say it throughout the offseason, months of torment for the Alabama coach and his football team since their disappointing loss to Clemson in January's national championship game.

The Crimson Tide's road to redemption begins on Aug. 31 when the defending SEC champs take the field as a heavy favorite against Duke. Alabama is favored in every game this fall prior to the program's expected trip to Atlanta and eventually, the Playoff, as the overwhelming favorite alongside Clemson to get back to the title game.

Saban says his players aren't getting ahead of themselves, however, and has noticed a renewed focus within the program.

"I think that our players learned a lot from that experience," Saban said at SEC Media Days. "I think that we didn't play with the discipline at the end of the season that we'd like to have as a team. I don't think that our preparation, so that we can go in a game and be very responsible and accountable to do our job at a high level on a consistent basis, was what it needed to be.

"And you know, whether or not people were worried about personal outcomes more than team outcomes, it's always hard to judge that. But it seems like we had a lot of distractions at the end of the year. So hopefully we learned from those scenarios, and it will help us do the things that we need to do to be able to play to our full potential throughout this season."
