10 Best VR Games For PC - Gamepur

If you've not experienced virtual reality on PC yet, then there is no better time for you to jump in the deep end. With the technology gathering pace and the PC Master Race being able to upgrade their machines to whatever spec they can imagine, as well as afford, then if your life is all about the personal computer, you really should be ready to take the step into VR.

It might not ever get to the point where humans are walking around in a daze with headsets strapped firmly to their faces like so many late 90s, and early 2000 sci-fi movies would have had us believe, but the fact remains that with each passing year the quality of VR is steadily improving. And if you do finally leap then where should you start? Well lucky, lucky you as this article aims to answer just that question and offers you the 10 Best VR Games for your PC.

Best VR Games For PC

Creed: Rise To Glory

Creed: Rise To Glory

If you've ever wanted to step inside the square circle and go mano-a-mano with another person but haven't managed to due to time restrictions or the understandable fear of not wanting to be punched in the face then Creed: Rise To Glory is the game for you. Lacing up the boots of the eponymous hero you will see you rise through the ranks to establish yourself as the best of the best and in no time you'll find yourself mastering the sweet science as you bob and weave like a real champ. Wii Fit Boxing this ain't.

Skyrim VR

Skyrim VR

It's been established already in another article on this site that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR is a blast and no matter how much time you've spent in this world already, strapping a virtual reality headset to your face and going back to it is like playing an entirely new game. It also helps if you choose the magic path as well as zooming around from point to point feels much more natural than if you're wielding a huge sword. What this has over the PSVR though is that it's compatible with mods if you know what you're doing so you can experience some of the best ones going as if you were slap bang in the middle of all the action.

L.A Noire The VR Case Files

L.A Noire: The VR Case Files

L.A Noire is one of the most underrated games in Rockstar's canon and doesn't get anywhere near the love that it deserves. However, if you've never played the game before, or if you have and weren't that sold on it the first time around, then L.A Noire: The VR Case Files might just be the ticket to changing all that. It's a shortened version of the game and considering the original spans three discs that can be seen as a blessing as it cuts away a lot of the chaff leaving only the wheat as you step into the flatfoot shoes of Cole Phelps and fight, shoot, and detective your way through this excellent noir.

Catch And Release

Catch And Release

Catch and Release is a fishing game that puts you on a beautiful lake and lets you explore it by rowing your boat around to the spots you want to fish. And that's it really, just a way to spend the day fishing without having to leave your home or fork out for equipment and a license to sit by a grotty canal full of shopping trollies or whatever the American equivalent of that is. It's also breathtaking in its beauty and sometimes it's just nice to kick back and relax instead of chopping peoples heads off.

Elite Dangerous VR

Elite Dangerous VR

Elite Dangerous is a fantastic game that gives you the entirety of space as your playground, which is a fantastic achievement for a game that was born on Kickstarter and now that it's available in virtual reality it somehow makes a fantastic game even better. You have full 360 views from your cockpit, and even though you could spend all of your time just looking around from there, it truly comes into its own when you're in the middle of a full-on space battle. Words cannot do it justice, trust me on this one, go buy it and experience it for yourself.

Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality

Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality

Rick and Morty is a global phenomenon and rightly so. It's one of the funniest things to ever grace the world of television and is as dark as night and as inventive as Rick himself. So if you're a fan of the show then Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality is the perfect game for you. You play as a clone of Morty and have access to a whole cadre of Rick's insane inventions as you complete the tasks that he sets you. There is nothing else like it on the market, and a must-have for anyone with even a passing interest in their adventures.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew

Star Trek: Bridge Crew

There's an excellent chance that if you're reading this, then you're a Star Trek fan. This isn't saying that only Star Trek fans read lists on gaming sites, but the world is filled with Trekkies so there's a fair chance that you're one. And if you're not then it doesn't matter as all you need to jump into a Star Fleet ship and head off to fight Klingons are three friends to help fill out the other roles available in this game. Because after all, you're going to be the Captain, right?

Beat Saber

Beat Saber

Yes, there's a very good chance that this may have made the other list on this site and yes there's always the possibility that I'm just repeating myself, but until they finally give us the Star Wars VR game that everyone is salivating at the mouth for then this is the closest you'll get to being a Jedi. Chop up block's as they fly towards in time with the music and using your not lightsaber's guv'. Pretty simple, pretty great, still not Star Wars VR dammit!!!

In Death

In Death

Ever since Demon's Souls reminded everyone how much fun it could be to get killed over and over again, people have hungered for games that challenge them until they 'Git Good.' There's just something satisfying about figuring out the patterns and finally emerging triumphant after failing so many times, and now you can do all of that in VR thanks to In Death. It is a complete bastard of a game and dying over and over while in virtual reality is just as horrifying as you imagine it to be but when you win and stand victorious over your vanquished foes the sense of achievement is like nothing else. Until you turn around and get shot in the face.

Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation

Now admittedly Alien: Isolation isn't a VR game, but with a simple mod it can be. If you go on to Steam, you can find a mod by Trick-or-Treats VR that will allow you to play the entire game through your headset. So if the whole experience wasn't enough to give you a complete breakdown the first time you played through it, then this is guaranteed to have you sleeping with the lights on and with a huge bat under your bed for the foreseeable future.
