As the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees prepared for the first game of their weekend series on Saturday in London, they spent a few moments before the first pitch chatting with a pair of local fans: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited both teams in their respective clubhouses before Saturday's games and received gifts for their newborn son, Archie. The Red Sox gave them a team onesie and a small red bat, while the Yankees' primary gift was a baby-sized jersey with "Archie" embroidered across the back.
"You guys have beaten next door's present, by the way," Prince Harry told the Yankees.
Prince Harry and the Duchess also posed for pictures. Markle hugged Red Sox star Mookie Betts — who, according to The Boston Globe, discovered last year that he is a distant relative of Markle's. Their lineages can both be traced back to a small town in Alabama, according to the newspaper.
In a TV interview on FOX before the game, Red Sox manager Alex Cora called the visit with Harry and Meghan "a great moment for the team."

"I’ve got to be honest with you: Between the instructions, the 'be polite and say the right things,' I was very, very nervous," Cora added. "I haven’t felt this nervous in a while."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also threw out the first pitch for the game, which was the first Major League Baseball contest to be played in Europe.
