'SNL' pits 'Avengers: Endgame' vs. 'Game of Thrones' on hilarious 'Family Feud' - USA TODAY

Instead of politics, "Saturday Night Live" opened this week by poking fun at two pop-culture behemoths: "Avengers: Endgame" and "Game of Thrones."

Hosted by Kenan Thompson's take on Steve Harvey, "Family Feud" was ground zero for a hilarious heroic throwdown between heroes from Westeros and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

On the Avengers side: Thor (Alex Moffat), Thanos (Beck Bennett), Okoye (Ego Nwodim) and Groot (Leslie Jones). And from "Game of Thrones": Brienne (Kate McKinnon), Tormund (Mikey Day), Melisandre (Cecily Strong) and Bran Stark (Kyle Mooney).

Thompson's Harvey got a lot of the best lines: Showing off his Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos bragged, "I wore my big fancy glove, Does it make me look pretty?" and Harvey quipped, "I saw that thing on QVC." And the host made a crack about how hard it was for viewers to see last Sunday's "Thrones" episode: "You know it’s dark when you can’t see the white people."

Brienne took on Thor, answering what would be on people's bucket lists. "Jaime Lannister, one night, three hands, no rules," Brienne said of her knightly pal. Thor countered with needing to reform the Rainbow Bridge to Valhalla. "Show me 'Some kind of white nonsense,' " Steve said, and it showed up on the board as "Travel."

And just like the last "Thrones" episode, it was Arya Stark (Melissa Villasenor) who showed up out of nowhere for the win. "Not today!" Arya said. "As the battle approaches and I stare into an endless night, there is but one thing a girl must do."

"Oh, say no more," Steve said. "I saw what you did in that episode. Show me 'Gettin' that booty!' "
