Destiny 2 Beta Update 4

Only twenty minutes to go until the Destiny 2 PC Beta gets underway! All

Bungie help has also advised that there could be some delays as the game gets underway.

"Early Access to the Destiny 2 PC Beta begins at 10 AM Pacific. Players may encounter a queue when first attempting to sign in."

In the meantime, all aboard the Bungie hype train...

Destiny 2 Beta Update 3

In a post that many might have missed, Bungie's very handy help pages have confirmed that Destiny 2 on PC will follow the same region-locking measure's currently used by Blizzard on PC.

In short, that means that the game will be locked to the region you set when setting up your Battle.net account.

Of course, there's nothing stopping you flipping between regions at your own leisure, as you can currently do with the likes of Overwatch, Hearthstone and plenty more Blizzard PC games.

"Players may only play with other players who have selected the same region, and cannot join the games or activities of players in other regions. The player's selected region will also limit who appears in-game in a player's Friends Lists and Clan Roster." confirmed a help page from Bungie posted before the weekend.

It means, effectively, that you won’t be able to join any games with players outside your set region. Equally, the players you see in the game will only ever be from your set region.

Although the game will contain the same drop-down menu that allows you to change the region before starting the game, Bungie still hasn't explained if characters will be cross-region.

For instance, while Blizzard allows you to play in any region whenever you want by switching, you need a different account for each one.

This would mean you'd need to have one account for playing with friends in the UK and another (potentially) for friends in the US.

With the Destiny 2 PC beta scheduled to start in just a couple of hours, hopefully, we'll find out more on how this will work in principle when players are able to properly test the system.

Destiny 2 Beta Update 2

Another update whilst PC fans wait for the start of the Destiny 2 Beta to begin and this time we've taken a quick look at the PC Gameplay Options courtesy of Destiny YouTuber and expert Arekkz Gaming.

The video covers a vast array of the available settings for PC Players including Framerate, Graphical Settings & much more.

According to Arekkz, the keyboard and mouse controls felt fairly natural, and the only complaint Arekkz had, was he would have liked to remap certain abilities.

This option wasn't available during the event, but Bungie has said during the most recent 'This Week at Bungie' Blogpost that the PC Key-mappings are customisable, so you can map them out to fit your personal play style.

Stay tuned for further updates as we approach the PC Beta start time.

Destiny 2 Beta Update 1

There's still plenty of hours to go until the start of the Destiny 2 Beta on PC but there's one all important thing you might need to do to make the most of your time with the beta.

recently launched a new driver ahead of the Destiny 2 Beta and "Version 385.41" of Nvidia's GeForce Game-Ready driver is available now.

This new driver optimises the upcoming Destiny 2 PC beta to ensure players get the best possible 4K 60FPS experience they want on PC

“NVIDIA’s developer resources, advanced gaming technologies and breadth of its GeForce PC platform make them an invaluable partner,” said Pete Parsons, CEO of Bungie.

“The GeForce PC platform offers technologies and performance that allow gamers to see the Destiny universe the way we envisioned it for PC players.”

fans are counting down to the release of the game but for very first time, PC players are also counting down to the start of the .

The release of the main game is coming sooner having already run several successful PS4 and Xbox One beta's, but the PC release date is a few weeks later and as such Bungie are only just getting around to launching the PC beta, which starts TOMORROW.

The August 28 PC Beta start date is only for those with early access, achieved by pre-ordering the game.

It's all set to get started at 6PM in the UK, which is 10am PDT if you live in the US.

Following a day of play, the games PC open beta will start on August 29 and allow any PC players without a pre-order the chance to jump in and trial Bungie's new PC shooter.

This short and sweet PC beta ends a few days later on August 31, although we wouldn't rule out Bungie extending the beta like they did with PS4 and Xbox One.

For those with earlier access it's already possible to pre-load the game right now and  if you did so with a digital copy then you only need to press "Install" in the Battle.net app to pre-load the Destiny 2 PC Beta.

However, Retail customers will need to go to bungie.net/redeem to redeem their code.

Take a look below to see whats included in the Destiny 2 PC beta early access and open beta.

DESTINY 2 PC BETA: Everything You Need to Know

The PC beta is starting a good few weeks after console players had the ability to play the game on PS4 and Xbox One, and will offer much of the same content that was on offer in the original build (albeit with better graphics).

The main change is that the PC beta features a brand new map. PS4 and Xbox One players experienced Control on the Midtown map, but PC players will battle it out on Javelin-4.

The PC version of the game will support 21:9 monitor setups, keyboard and mouse input and give players the option to tune their graphics settings, however.

The original version of Destiny never made the leap to PC, so with Destiny 2 releasing on the Windows platform, Bungie and Activision may see an entirely new fanbase join the game.

Unlike the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, however, you will be required to download the Blizzard desktop app in order to play the beta - this is the standard client for launching and playing all of Blizzard's games (Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, Diablo etc) and will be the only way you can access and play Destiny 2 on PC.

Destiny 2 PC Beta - What you shouldn't expect:

Clan Support: It’s true that Clans will be supported in Destiny 2, but those features are not a part of this test.

Character Progression: You’ll receive rewards for defeating your enemies – be they Cabal, Vex, or other Guardians – but the Beta does not represent how your characters will evolve in Destiny 2.

Character Continuity: Destiny 2 is a fresh start. Nothing we do in the Beta will carry over to the final version of the game.
